About

Introduction

I’m Ben, a designer & developer from Colorado. I help organizations and agencies solve problems and engage their customers more effectively. I have agency experience in visual & web design, and am highly familiar with web development, and digital marketing. My education was in Graphic Design, with an emphasis on Interactive & User Experience Design. I like to work with teams to brainstorm & develop ideas, and prefer to work solo while concentrating on a defined task. Communicating information in an effective, meaningful, and visually impactful manner is a truly rewarding career and I’m proud to be a part of those who contribute to the industry.

My Story

I grew up in the Western U.S. I was born in New Mexico, and have lived in Idaho, Colorado, Texas, and now Mississippi. I spent most of my time playing with Legos with my brother when I was younger. I took an interest in computers and technology when I was about 12 and built my first desktop from scavenged parts shortly afterwards. It had a Celeron D and 2GB of DDR2. I began programming and creating 3D models using Blender, and successfully created several basic 3D games within the Blender Game Engine using Python scripting and custom textures.

From there, I went to college with an interest in technology and wound up learning SolidWorks, 3D printing and several programming languages. By then I had decided that I enjoyed the creativity involved in both design and software and decided to combine the two as best as possible through UX/digital design. I went to the University of Northern Colorado to earn my degree in graphic design (emphasis in UX) and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Today, I have worked in the field for a little over a year professionally and am working to gain deeper understanding of several technologies through personal projects.
