This was a logo development project I undertook for a local woodworking entrepreneur that is expanding the craft to build unique, one-of-a-kind pieces ranging from cutting boards, knives, tables, and custom cabinetry.
It was an incredibly fun logo to make, and an extensive process to arrive at the final result. The logo represents the detailed patterns Solomon creates by cutting, layering, and arranging different species of wood to create contrasting lines and shapes. Other ideas that influenced the final direction include: the hexagonal shape represents a cube, or “block” and the central pattern can also be interpreted as tree rings or a saw blade.
